Meghan's First Haircut

Meghan had her very first haircut today. *tears*

She was so good and brave! She sat still during the whole thing and wasn't scared at all. It was important to me that they didn't make it too short or give her bangs. I think they did a pretty good job. And now we have a lock of her hair for her memory box.

Nature Hunt

Each week when Meghan and I go to therapy we play outside the office until it's time for our appointment if the weather is nice enough. Meghan loves to search for things she's learned about like Lizards, Leaves, Bugs, Flowers and so on. We also like to play hide and go seek behind the pillars on the porch. Meghan likes to be chased and tickled.

Mama catch me!

I'm watching a Lizard!

I found some leaves!

She's a big girl

My beautiful girl is growing up too fast! I wish I had started journaling about her sooner before I forget even the teeniest detail.

Back in April at her 2 year check up she was 24 lbs 9 ozs and 35 inches. I know she's up to 25 lbs now but I'm not sure about height.

There's no limit to what she can say now. She's not only repeating everything, she's also speaking full sentences without being prompted now.

She jumps and runs (I say she looks like a woman at Target during a black Friday sale). Her laugh is contagious. She's affectionate, but you need to earn her hugs and kisses. Her eyes are still the brightest blue.

She has the power to bright up even my darkest moods. She's so caring and kind. There are no words to make you understand just how special and important she is.

Every night at bedtime, she stands on the bathroom counter and looks at herself in the mirror while we tell her everything that we love about her and she repeats it back to herself in the mirror. I hope she never loses sight of how amazing she is.

Not the Ant Hill!!!

Meghan took a trip to the local Splash Park to visit with friends today.

After about 30 minutes of splashing fun, she decided it would be even more fun to play hide and go seek with Mama. When she finally got bored of that, it was time to investigate her surroundings. Unfortunately, those surroundings included a large ant hill. Meghan thought it would be great fun to plant both hands deep into this interesting mound of dirt and play with it. Mama ran over and grabbed her up, stuck her in the water and began pulling the ants off.

Too late.

Poor thing got around 20-30 bites all over her little body, her hands the worst of it.

Luckily, our friend Summer had a tube of Benadryl Gel (Mama highly recommends this for your bags!) and quickly applied generous amounts to all of Meghan's boo boos. Mama also took Meghan to the nearest pharmacy and gave her a dose of liquid children's Benadryl as well. A quick stop to pick up some lunch and home to bed.

Benadryl is some good stuff! The swelling went down considerably and no other reactions popped up. The side effect of Benadryl is drowsiness, which while isn't funny, it did make for a cute naptime video. (Please excuse the bad quality, Meghan has black out curtains on her windows and it was quite dark!)

Hopefully next time Mama yells "NO!" Meghan will remember those ants.
